About Us

Starting in January of 2013 Angela Tayler officially took on the role of primary editor for Country Sunrise News, this also marked the family taking over ownership of the paper from Ted and Jan Mastaler who have grown the publication for the last 15 years. The Taylers are hoping to continue to grow the paper and deepen the value of it to the advertisers, writers and readers who have helped to make it a success for these many years. They intend to do this through enhancing the printed paper with a sister publication online in the form of www.countrysunrisenews.com and the power of social networking.

Guy and Angela have been married since September 2002 and have been living in Red Deer since shortly after their wedding as they decided to forego a honeymoon trip in favor of buying a house. They chose Red Deer in order to be closer to their immediate family and to get away from the bigger city of Calgary and the Deerfoot parking lot. Guy was and still is a computer/electronics technician while Angela is a legal assistant that still does contract work for a local firm.

They currently have five sons ranging in age from 1 to 15 years old with another baby due in March this year, it's a busy and loud house on any given day! As a homeschooling family the boys schedules are flexible enough for Mum to manage the newspaper and still have time to keep up with their learning on a regular basis, it's their vision to make the paper a whole-family endeavor.

The Taylers want to keep the paper as a good news publication that is encouraging and informative for the whole family and are looking forward to growing with feedback from our readership! Letters/emails to the editor are always welcome (and read) and they thank you in advance for your continued support!
